As part of the NUREM project, aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of its vulnerable beneficiaries, Service Yezu Mwiza (SYM) has, on August 9, 2019 proceeded to the delivery of the certificates to the community development officers, who have received training on the management and organization of Income Generating Activities (IGAs).
Community development officers first received training to learn how to organize and manage income-generating activities. They subsequently ensured regular monitoring of 214 vulnerable beneficiaries grouped in IGA in the implementation of NUREM project.
In this ceremony, all 214 beneficiaries of this project were invited to share also success stories that can inspire some of them to redouble their efforts in their micro projects.
In his Speech, Father Védaste NKESHIMANA, Executive Director of Service Yezu Mwiza, first thanked all the guests for responding to the invitation. He then reminded the beneficiaries that without them SYM would not be right to exist because all its services are intended for them.
He assured that through the NUREM project, SYM wanted its beneficiaries to take care of themselves without any help and leave the framework to ask to be in the camp of those who give; this means that thanks to the profits from these IGAs, they no longer ask for help but manage to support themselves and their families.
As the Bible says in Acts 20:35, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." He added that he is pleased to see that now they can give their families everything they need. . He also wished everyone to have the happiness that this word of God speaks to us in getting to educate their children, having the food they need, in short by satisfying all their needs by themselves.
He noted that SYM is proud to work with them, and sees the members of that project as his elders. A parent loves his children a lot and invites them to act as such at the SYM. An older child seeks to satisfy his parents and it is by working hard to achieve autonomy that they will be acquitted of their tasks, because a parent finds a joy when his children are fulfilled.
It was afterwards the opportunity to awarded certificates to the 12 beneficiaries who have followed training to monitor the execution of projects of other beneficiaries grouped in AGRs in the implementation of this project. He also did not fail to thank the SYM staff for their contribution to the project.
He ended his speech by inviting them to redouble their efforts to achieve sustainable empowerment but also to always put God forward in their projects.
" We are honored to have been chosen to take that training, and to have earned this Certificate. Being a community development worker is hard work that requires more time and sacrifice but for our good and that of all the beneficiaries of this NUREM project, we have to do it. We are happy that other beneficiaries trust us and accept our advice. We thank you very much and promise you to work even harder to achieve our financial independence ".Odette, who spoke on behalf of the 12 Community Development Officers

"Before joining this project, my life was a nightmare, I was going to work for others even if my health did not allow me to go. I should force myself, otherwise my children would not have enough to eat. But, God heard my tears by giving us SYM. Today, I assure you that I work on my own account after having received the capital, I can pay the school fees of my children, their food and all the needs of my family thanks to the profits of our project of culture of ' amaranths. " Testifies one of the beneficiaries of Kinyinya
"SYM really saved us. For example in my group is a person who weighed just 30 kilos because of malnutrition. With this project NUREM, we chose a small business in a kiosk. Today, this person weighs about 50 kilograms, because at this moment we are able to buy medicine, to feed ourselves but also to provide for our families ". Says Mutumba beneficiary
The ceremony was enhanced by Mr. Claude NDAYISHIMIYE, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Service the Yezu Mwiza, who in his closing ceremonial speech congratulated all those who joined this project and all those involved in its implementation. He said that if these beneficiaries work hard, they will be able to reach far and even become a source of inspiration for others.
The ceremony ended in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
