Distribution of work tools to young volunteers and to the pillars of the SRH community solutions project called

As part of the SRH community solutions project called "Tubakarorero", implemented by Service Yezu Mwiza (SYM) in three provinces including Bujumbura, Kirundo and Cibitoke, in partnership with Care International Burundi, SYM has granted the project's community relays (young volunteers and pillars), work tools consisting of: Vests, Android phones, CVC modules and umbrellas.

66 Android phones were distributed to 66 young volunteers from all the communes of the three provinces, 24 phones to the 24 pillars of the 12 priority communes, 114 Vests, 114 umbrellas and 114 CVC modules for the young volunteers and the pillars of the 22 communes.

TUBAKARORERO project manager at SYM, indicated that in this activity, it was a about giving giving these community relays the tools necessary for the effectiveness of their work of community awareness on the themes of the project, in particular sexual and reproductive health, family planning for married couples, the fight against SGBV as well as entrepreneurship.

"These vests will allow them to be identified in the community as community relays of "TUBAKARORERO" project. As for the Life Skills Modules (LSM), they will find the key messages to be given as well as the methodological approaches during the awareness sessions. The Android phones are to stay in constant contact with the provincial coaches in order to communicate in real time about achievements and possible challenges", he adds.

During the tools distribution, the Projects and Programs Coordinator at SYMand the Project Manager took the opportunity to follow the progress of awareness-raising activities in the youth centers and solidarity groups in the 12 priority youth centers for the year 2022. Orientations on the systematic planning of weekly and monthly activities were given to these community relays in order to work efficiently.

During this kit distribution descent, The Projects and Programs Coordinator, together with the Project Manager, took the opportunity to follow the progress of awareness-raising activities at the level of youth centers and solidarity groups in the 12 priority youth centres for the year 2022. Guidance on the systematic planning of weekly and monthly activities was given to these community relays to work effectively.

It should be noted that the community relays of the project play an important role in promoting positive attitudes of young people, couples and families in terms of SRH and GBV in the community.
