In order to enable its beneficiaries to deal with the poverty that affects most of the rural population, PLWHA in particular, the SYM in the implementation of the NUREM project, supports more than 200 vulnerable beneficiaries through IGAs.
Income-generating activities increase the purchasing power and livelihoods of rural and urban families, who fail to ensure their food security by increasing their agricultural or livestock production and those of their families, who are extremely dependent on the market, ensure their food.
The beneficiaries of GIHANGA who received the small capital to realize these IGAs quickly put to work, the positive impact of this project is noticeable financially but also on the social level as we saw during the supervision.
“When we started this hen breeding project, nobody knew where the other lived. Now, we meet once a week to see together the progress of our breeding, find a solution to the problems that may arise. On the social front, working together has created relatives within our group. We work in synergy, if a member of the group has a financial or social problem, we sit down together to solve it as best we can. This project has changed our daily life and for the moment we are able to have enough to eat without asking for help thanks to our breeding ". Ensures Juvénal Ndikumana
"The reason for our choice for this chicken farm is that it generates profits in a short time, and it does not take a lot of time we can do it without it stopping us from going about other activities".Testifies Frediane Irankunda
