As part of the implementation of the "RAFG Activity" project, the Yezu Mwiza Service supported by FHI360 on funding from the US Government via PEPFAR / USAID, in the context of: elimination of HIV where it is necessary to identify positive cases and link them to undetectable Viral Charge (CV) treatment, organized an orientation session in dates from 03 to April 04 and 08 to April 09, 2019 for the 60 new Community Relays and 7 service providers identified in the province of BUJUMBURA.
This activity, held in Buterere for the first and Kabezi for the second group, will respond to the results of the three 95% in the province of Bujumbura around the FOSA of: RUKARAMU, GATUMBA, MARAMVYA, RUBIRIZI, RUSHUBI , MUTUMBA and KABEZI.
The overall objective of the activity is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of volunteer PLHIV leaders for community mobilization to reach the 95%.
The specific objective of the session is to orient the community leaders on the new approach of the self test, to develop the connection FOSA-Community-providers for reaching the three 95%, to contribute in the connection to the Treatment and retention at ART using community support groups, Involve community relays in finding delays at appointments, lost to follow-up and abandonment cases, Improve knowledge of volunteer PLHIV leaders on collecting data on the three 95%, Contribute to the removal of detectable viral load by groups of words focused on the importance of this examination of viral load.
Note that these trained community relays will also contribute to the indexation of sexual partners of PLHIV.
