As people affected by leprosy we should remain hidden for fear of being mocked for our health and we were in extreme poverty. We were sensitized by Action Damien and after Service Yezu Mwiza taught us how we could come together to create associations to support each other. And the fact of benefiting kits to practice agriculture, goats for breeding has helped us a lot to start our micro projects and we are united in our activities. This has changed our conception of the daily life of lepers, today thanks to the care and support of Service Yezu Mwiza in collaboration with Action Damien, we felt reintegrated into society, we no longer hide and we work together in associations, everyone has understood that we are capable but still we can provide for ourselves and our respective families through Income Generating Activities. Also through the knowledges received on the symptoms of leprosy, we are contributing to research and awareness of those who are suffering from this disease and who are still hiding. Because we know that if leprosy is detected early, the worst can be avoided.
